SUMMER WITH SWAN:  Don’t forget to register for summer classes and, by dancing in the summer, you do not have to pay the $30 re-registration fee for fall classes. Bring a friend to class with you this summer and receive $10 off your next month’s tuition or bring four or more people and get your next month’s tuition for free (registration fee required for both offers). Please let the studio know what classes you plan to take in the summer, as soon as possible. If you do not plan to continue through the summer, you must let us know in writing that you are withdrawing.   Please take note of summer openings/closings below: 

  • All locations closed:  Monday, June 21st  and Thursday, July 1st through Monday, July 5th.
  • Condensed classes held: Tuesday, June 22nd through Wednesday June 30th. See Schedule in Studio. Summer classes begin Tuesday, July 6th.
  • On Monday July 5th regular classes are suspended, however we will have summer dance workshops beginning for teenagers on this date.

Summer Dance Camps & Workshops: Take action this summer and enroll for our summer dance camps. Youth Camps  (ages 4-8 ) will be held July 12th to July 16th (Fairfax) and July 19th to July 23rd(Chantilly).  Pre-teen camps (ages 9-12) held July 26th to July 30th (Fairfax) and August 9th to August 13th (Chantilly). The cost is $255 per student (snacks included).  Workshops and master classes for teens will take place Monday July 5th through Friday July 9th.   The cost is $260 for the entire week or $18 per class (on a drop in basis).   We will also offer amazing master classes and workshops for Teens and Adults (ages 12 and up) at both our Fairfax and Chantilly locations throughout the month of August.  Experience instruction from in-house and area guest artists studying a variety of dance genres.  Sign-up today!

        PLEASE READ: IMPORTANT RECITAL INFORMATION:

As noted in the previous newsletter, we are coming upon our recital in the next few weeks at W.T. Woodson High School. As a reminder, the performance and dress rehearsal dates are listed below:

FAIRFAX:  Performance -- Saturday, June 19th at 1:00pm / CHANTILLY:  Performance -- Saturday, June 19th at 6:00pm Please arrive 1hr. early 

    FAIRFAX:  Dress Rehearsal—Thursday, June 17th --- Please arrive 10min. early

    Act I – 6:00pm – 7:30pm  / Act II – 7:30pm – 9:00pm  / Swan Lake 9:00pm – 10:00pm 

CHANTILLY:  Dress Rehearsal – Friday, June 18th --- Please arrive 10min. early

    Act I – 6:00pm – 7:30pm  / Act II – 7:30pm – 9:00pm  / Swan Lake 9:00pm – 10:00pm 

If your child’s dance is in the first act, please arrive one hour before the performance start time (12:00 p.m. for Fairfax and 5:00 p.m. for Chantilly).  If your child’s dance is only in the second act only, please arrive one hour before the second act begins (12:45 p.m. for Fairfax and 5:45 p.m. for Chantilly).  They should arrive in full dress with completed make-up and hair pulled back and securely fastened for the final performance.  Students should arrive no earlier than 10 minutes prior to dress rehearsal and dressed in costume with light make-up.  Please check the show order posted in the studio. 

We would like to request students stay for the entire show, if possible.  Our dancers need your encouragement for their hard work and a supportive audience makes all the difference. We will also have a final bow that will include all dancers at the end of our performance.  We anticipate the show to finish around 4:00 pm (Fairfax) and 9:00 pm (Chantilly).

RECITAL TICKETS: As a reminder, tickets are on sale and please pick-up your two free tickets from the studio if you have not done so already.  Please invite family and community friends to attend our show and support our dancers!

 VOLUNTEER PARENTS NEEDED: We need volunteer parents to help us after the show ends to load and transport rental costumes to the studio.  Please inform the desk if you are able to help us with this very important task.  We also need parents to bring baked goods for sale on the performance night.  Please sign-up in the studio if you are interested.

OTHER REMINDERS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS:  Due to rising costs, we will be distributing only one program per family (two programs for senior dancers).  Additional copies will be for sale for $2.00 or two for $3.00. 

We also have beautiful, professionally arranged roses for sale.  One stem Princess arrangements with greenery and baby’s breathe are $5.00 and three stem Ballerina arrangements are $10.00.  Pleasepre-order by signing up in the studio.  We will also have a limited selection for sale during the performance.  Please don’t forget:  Pick- up your t-shirts at the theatre (a limited quantity will be on sale during performance) and check back with us in late July for recital photographs and in mid-August for DVDs/videos.

As always, we will have a bake sale.  If you can donate some baked goods, that would be greatly appreciated.
